Same, I rather enjoyed the aesthetic as well. “In the Woods” was my favorite, especially with its use of gifs in collaboration with the text to bring its story to life and its music to really nail that weird, haunting atmosphere. A.I actually [[hated]] “In the Woods.” B.I really enjoyed [[Orteil]]’s works “Nested 0.3” and “Cookie Clicker.”

"This week, Juliet Escoria’s work “In the Woods: A Moving Picture Book” was what fascinated me the most and truly exemplified how electronic literature, and specifically video games in this case, can add to the literary genre and give more tools to the writer/poet’s disposal. While Escoria’s work here already has a pretty haunting and dream-like quality to it in its actual words, the music and visuals further enhance this feeling by providing an even more foreboding and sometimes unsettling atmosphere to the tale. The use of gifs provides a sense of life to the text and almost gives the double quality of both reading a story and watching a movie. For example, they seem to add to the sense of urgency, dread, or fear the character is expressing during the story through their movement and life-like quality." [[THE END]]
